For those in the “BBBRRRR cold” places

Sharing is caring!

So I was thinking….

I love living in Florida with eternal sunshine so much that I feel bad for those of you that have to get through winters. That is if you don’t enjoy winters, of course. If you do, disregard that first sentence, I don’t feel sorry for you- you have fun in the winter!

But for those who are like me, who shiver at the very thought of temperatures below 60F, I want to do something nice! I want to run a giveaway of super duper awesome-balls baby winterwear by 7AM ENFANT!

The issue is I know nothing about WINTER BABY GEAR! So it is up to you to tell me what you want and I’ll run a giveaway for that item!

Below is the poll!

I’ll run it for a few days and then post a giveaway for the most voted item.

In the meantime, there is this awesome promotion they are running right now that you need to know about and it ends TODAY. You get free shipping and a pair of $44 WARMMUFFS for those cold hands pushing a stroller when you purchase a Polar Igloo. Code: WHITEWINTER

This is wonderful! I read your blog all the time, Elena, and am always so envious of your warm weather! I am a California girl but living in South Dakota for my husband’s work….BRRR!!! So cold! It really makes you realize how much you love warm places. Fantastic idea!

Many of those products are advertised for car seats and absolutely should NOT be used in car seats. This company has completely FAILED at doing any product SAFETY research. I would not promote them if I were you.

oh man, watching the video of the le sac igloo thing is even worse. Twisted car seat strap, chest clip never on the chest (wtf do they think it is for when it is called a CHEST clip?) and straps that are definitely too loose.

I know they aren’t a car seat company, but if they are going to try to sell products for the car seat (which shouldn’t even be used in the first place.. NO AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED FOR SAFETY) they should at least make sure they can use the damn car seat in a way that actually protects the baby. The baby in that video is perfectly set up to fly right out of the seat in a collision.

No, I wouldn’t promote them at all. Not sure what perks they are giving you, but at the minimum, you should have a warning that their products are NOT SAFE for car seat usage. Or maybe a follow up post on safe car seat usage. Spread the info further across the web for people who don’t know yet. It would protect babies.

        Man, Bryanna!

You are talking like you just watched a “how-to” car seat video, not a promotional video for winter gear. They didn’t actually put the baby in the car an drive, things like that happen all the time while shooting. The seat doesn’t even look fastened. Parents are smart enough to make their own decisions regarding their babies safety based on trustworthy sources, not based on one pretty video. And it’s definitely not my nor 7AM Enfant’s responsibility to CYA on every single thin. This is a great company with great products. If a parent chooses to use some of their products in a car seat rather than a stroller, I am sure they would make sure it is safe.

It’s a good idea to write a post about safe car seat usage, i don’t think the info is readily available, however I am NOT the person to do it, if I wanted to do it right.

Those things are not safe, no matter what! They prevent the straps from being tight enough to properly protect a baby in a crash. They also void car seat warranties if used since they didn’t come with the seat.

I’m a HUGE car seat safety advocate and cringe whenever I see people using these type of things. Shower cap car seat covers are the best for cold weather since nothing goes behind the baby to interfere with how the seat works.

I think one of the best winter baby gear items would be one of those coats for mom that is made to be worn while wearing your baby underneath. 🙂

Random question; what “heatlhy” makeup do you use? 😉

Boba has awesome hoodies and vest coming out this year just for that!

make up: that’s my weak spot. I don’t like MOST healthy make up ( but I haven’t tried that many to be honest), but right now I use Josie Maran stuff and enjoy it.
