I am about to have a lot of fun with this 🙂 Mother’s Day Gift Guide for all kinds of moms based on the things that I love, have used and would recommend. No rules, nothing sponsored, just some cool stuff I have found that I would like to receive as a woman, whether it’s practical or thoughtful.
So let’s play a game of what we, as moms and women, would want for Mother’s Day. Because let’s admit it, while the rest of the world celebrates WOMEN on International Women’s Day, we are left to celebrate motherhood only on the only day dedicated to us. So let’s make it about us, women, not just us as moms!
Please have fun with me and let me know which item you ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT WANT to receive and which ones you’d LOVE TO GET in the comments!
Foot Massager as a Mother’s Day Gift
I just received it and I am a convert, this is one of the most used things in our house since it arrived. We fight over it and when no one is home, I have my feet inside at all times. I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying a foot massage on the couch while watching a movie. For free. This is the one I have: foot massager
DNA Kit as a Mother’s Day Gift
I love this kind of stuff and it seem like everyone is buying everyone a DNA kit for holidays, birthdays, and Mother’s Day.
There are so many different kits to choose from. For me, since there’s no doubt about my ancestry (watch me be wrong), I was more interested in the health/diet/exercises predispositions. So Vitagene is the kit that I just took and waiting on results for. I am super excited to see what it says.
Another kit that is really awesome is Living DNA. What makes it different from others is that instead of going back 10-20 generations like others DNA kits do, it goes back hundreds of thousands of years. Most people have a pretty good idea where their recent relatives are from ( i mean last 10 generations). People in America identify with one European, Latin America, African, Asian country or the other based on family stories. But what they don’t know is that those ancestors had to have moved to those countries from somewhere, they most likely were migrants and not founding families of the country. Which means your true identity and DNA lies with the past well beyond 20 generations, around 100,000 years ago when “your people” migrated to those countries.
Obviously all of us came from Africa in the very beginning, but then where did your relatives settle down? Before eventually moving to whatever country your great grandparents were from. You might be surprised… 🙂
Planners as a Mother’s Day Gift
I am a sucker for any kind of journal or planner. I would say I collect them 🙂
My two favorites are:
Mom Journal For 5 years with Prompts
Cleverfox Planner Pro (I use this daily)
Succulents as a Mother’s Day Gift
I am a sucker for succulents, I buy them and grow them and reproduce them (is that a word?). A plant that you cannot kill with your lack of time or energy because it can go (and should) weeks without watering. Is this a YAY or a NAY?
Necklaces as a Mother’s Day Gift
I have a love hate relationship with jewelry, who is with me? On one hand I love how it looks and I feel oh so cute wearing. On the other hand, it’s the least of my priorities to make sure in the morning as I am running out with unbrushed hair, no bra and probably no shoes to drop off Lexi at school. Plus I have gotten to the point where I want the lease amount of stuff touching me. No clothes, shoes, or jewelry.
However when looking for a gift you can never go wrong with a cute necklace, right? Or would you say NO?
Selfie stick as a Mother’s Day Gift
Is it vain? Or not? Where do we draw the line on selfie sticks? Just like with above, I have a lot hate relationship with them. On one hand, I want to be able to capture the whole family in the photo- me included- and capture moments when I don’t have my camera. On the other hand, what a pain! Bringing it, carrying it, remembering to use it? What do you say?
This selfie stick is pretty darn cool though, it folds into a little baton like stick ( perfect for self defense), extends A LOT, and has a remote. Oh and it’s rose gold. Almost like jewelry.
This selfie stick I am linking is so cool it has an attached LED fill Light!
Tool Kit and Tire Inflator as a Mother’s Day Gift
Ok, where are my handy mamas at? Not there? Damn, well if you don’t have a man, or a man willing to do the dirty work for you, it is sort of important to know how to work your tools on your own (and I am not referring to your sex toys, you dirty girl!). Single mothers, you know how sometimes you just gotta get that drill out and work it (why does it all sound so sexual?).
Then there are car emergencies where you realize you have not inflated your tired in years. I have been there. So these are cool practical gifts for a cool “I can do it myself” mom. Yes or no?
Outdoor Heated Chair as a Mother’s Day Gift
Then we have the outdoors-y mom, who loves to hang out in the nature, camp, or just sit on the patio way past sunset. It gets cold. We don’t like getting cold, so you can get a bun warmer that is a camping chair. Win-Win! Would you want it?
Lingerie as a Mother’s Day Gift
I know what you are going to say. This stuff is better left for Valentine’s Day. But why do we have to put such limitations on looking hot and sexy? I just don’t wanna. Don’t make me do it.
Obviously depending on your relationship with your mom (did you go to Christian school?), you might not want to buy her sexy undies, but some of you I am sure would be totally cool with getting some awesome bras for your mom.
I know it’s not me, because that would confuse my mom… or maybe I underestimate her, she loves clothes shopping. But I know I would love some sexy lacey undies any day of the year
Cashmere travel Kit as a Mother’s Day Gift
This is totally going to spoil the mom who loves to travel in comfort. I absolutely love this set and use it on all trips. It’s a pouche with a travel blanket and a eye mask inside all made of soft warm cashmere. My trips to Europe have never been so luxurious.
Leather Hat as a Mother’s Day Gift
I love this thing. I am not a person who wears a lot of hats (why hide this pretty face? HA. I am kidding- I totally hide it), but having a leather cap totally upped my hat game. It goes with freaking dresses. What else could you ask for?
Passport Holder and Luggage Tags as a Mother’s Day Gift
Gimme travel accessories and I will love you forever!
It’s nice to travel with your shit together. My passport holder has a spot for the boarding passes, IDs, cards and more and the matching luggage tags are just cute. Perfect gift for anyone really.
Withings Smart Watch as a Mother’s Day Gift
Ok, I have to be honest- I am a sucker for Withings products (I love tech, what can I say). I literally live in this watch. No, for real- I wore out the band; that’s how much I wear it. It tells me time, steps, and so much more while still looking like a watch. Not like a square piece of glass/plastic on my wrist.
Clothes as a Mother’s Day Gift
Someone told me clothes isn’t a gift. Well, tell that to all my mother’s-in-law, because they totally think it is. And you know what? I think it is too. A gift is anything that another person would be happy to receive. Who doesn’t like clothes? Whether it’s super comfy loungewear like below or nice and dressy tops, I am all for it. What do you guys think?
Star Wars Stuff as a Mother’s Day Gift
I know that men tend to be the ones obsessed with star Wars, but I also know a few ladies and how cool would it be to get a star wars mug (instead of your 7th I Heart Mom one), or a tee that you will show off at Disney when Star Wars land opens (EEEKKK!!!). I am not a huge fan but I know I look cool using it as if I am a fan 🙂 Any star Wars fans here?
Skin Care as a Mother’s Day Gift
And not just store bought stuff, but get (or give) THE GOOD STUFF. I mean good-for-you skincare without all the crap and chemicals. Something your skin will thank you for. I am a long time user of Amala and it’s seriously the best. Their polish and masks are awesome. Very pricey but worth it.
Essential Oils as a Mother’s Day Gift
1 in 4 moms are obsessed about essential oils. I just made that up, but you know everyone and their momma (see what I did there) are selling, buying, and using (also sounds wrong, like it’s illegal). My favorite brand? Eden’s Garden! I love their bottles and their quality and variety. I use them to make my own homemade lotions ( found here and here and here), which also makes for a great gift! So if you don’t have the money to spend on expensive skin care, essential oils are JUST as good, if not better.
Vacations as a Mother’s Day Gift
I leave this for last because honestly, this is the best gift you could give a person. Time to get away, recharge, sip some margaritas, or climb a mountain. It is necessary for our mental health and I am convinced eventually everyone will realize that travel over stuff is the way to live! But until then I will still write about the cool things I find, cool places I travel to and cool things I learn. And I hope to keep hearing about yours.
I have been to too many places to recommend or list just one. You can find experiences even in your backyard. For recommendations, visit our travel blog, Our Little Voyages, or the travel section of Daily Mom.
Mother’s Day is a special time. It is the one day a year that we can say, “Thanks” for everything our moms do for us and to recognize the hard work your partner puts in every single day. These gifts are some of my favorite gifts for Mother’s Day, and I hope it helps give you some ideas on what to ask for or what to give to the most important person- mom!

This one: https://amzn.to/2He3lsd
It’s sooo good!
I love the striped shirt with lace. Can you share the link? Thanks!
Minney, it’s from Pink Blush! Unfortunately, I do not see it on their website anymore.
