Oh what a change this Easter was from our last year’s Easter.
I cannot get over how much fun it is to have a toddler. To see all the experiences?through?their curious eyes.
We had two egg hunts this year, but at the moment I will only be posting one. The second one has 748 photos to go through. And is more of a baby photoshoot than an egg hunt. Gorgeous inspired photoshoot.
On Saturday we were invited to a neighborhood egg hunt and boy, was I surprised.
Notice the dress I am wearing. It’s a nursing (and maternity if needed) dress from Boob Designs, one of my favorites actually. It is so comfortable and super easy to breastfeed in. Lexi is wearing the same gown she wore to our princess tea party at Disney, by Baby Beau and Belle. It was so glad to have been able to find another event to wear it to.
I was surprised?to see that Lexi took to the Easter Bunny! We didn’t get good pictures, partially because Andrew couldn’t catch them on time and didn’t have the right camera settings, partially because she would run up to the bunny, lean in to kiss him and run away, then run back up. It was the most adorable thing I have ever seen – her leaning towards the bunny to give him a kiss.
When it was time to hunt eggs we were led into the sandy playground area that was fenced in and my little girl was such a pro at gathering eggs! She knew EXACTLY what to do. It makes sense, I guess, since one of her favorite past-times is putting things into boxes and baskets and “cleaning up” her toys.
She got a whole basket full of eggs without much help from us. AND when all the eggs were gone, she would approach other kids and steal their eggs!??Bahahahahahaha!!!!!
We, of course, politely explained to her that you can’t do that and placed the stolen eggs back into other kid’s baskets.
I didn’t expect Easter to be such a fun holiday. We never really celebrated it in a way that families with kids do. And to be honest, I saw no major appeal is hunting eggs. You go in a field with a zillion crazed yelling kids and stuff your basket full of eggs with horrible candy.?Oh how the perspectives change with change of circumstances. Next year I want to decorate. I want to celebrate spring. It’s a lot more fun than I thought.
It was such a joy watching Lexi find her first eggs, diligently put them into her basket with a look of sheer concentration and determination on her face.
And then once all the eggs were gone, seeing her trudge through the heavy sand with a basket full of eggs hanging on one arm, tilting her to the side with its weight, barely able to walk and balance herself. Precious! She IS such a?hard worker. Besides “determined“, that is ONE quality I can easily assign to her.
?
I know that the egg hunts get much more fun with each year, when they get the concept even better!
Once we got back to the clubhouse, the egg opening began, which was just as much fun for Lexi as the gathering was. Again, cue in concentration and serios look as she was opening and carefully emptying each egg.
The rest of the week is so far being spent carrying two Easter egg baskets around and putting eggs in and taking them out, opening them and closing.
How was your Easter? And how do you celebrate Easter and Spring?

she is so very cute!!!! I’m so jealous of the warm weather. And WHAT A DIFFERENCE one year can make. wow.
How fun! I think your husband captured the moment with the bunny great! (says the girl who always shoots in auto because she doesn’t understand manual and is planning a blog post with nothing but grainy cell phone photos tomorrow)
So adorable!!
Easter at our house is chaotic =) We decorate eggs, tell stories, play games, hide eggs, and just enjoy one another’s company. I’m so glad you found the Easter love this year; it’s one of my favorite holidays!
I cannot believe it’s already been a year since last Easter!!!!
Looks like so much fun 🙂
She is so adorable! That dress is awesome! I can’t wait for Adeline to Easter egg hunt next year! She will be 15 months!
You are looking stunning!!!!! 🙂
She is precious! My daughter was just a little too young to truly get much out of Easter this year, but I can only imagine how sweet it was to watch Lexi get down to “work” with her eggs 🙂
We all holed up at home to try to recover from our family cold. We did stop to grab breakfast somewhere, sitting outside to enjoy a brief bit of sunshine, and then we drove for nearly 2 hours while Little L passed out in her Foonf. That was our Easter.
I’m actually a little bitter, because had we been well, we would have attended the Ukrainian Easter party hosted by our friends. And Little L would have enjoyed her first egg hunt, which she missed this year. 🙁 Next year, I’m determined to make it up to her!!
Ugh, colds suck! You’ll have the next year! Our last year was a bit stressful, so I am happy we made up for it!
