This week’s Photo Share Tuesday is inspired by Dr Seuss books we received the other day. I always knew about Dr Seuss, but not having grown up in US, I wasn’t exposed to his books and rhymes. My only encounter with Dr Seuss stories was through the Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure. I’ve heard snippets of rhymes here and there on the rides, but I never read a single book of his. Now that we’re getting ready to have a baby, of course, the first books I bought were Dr Seuss books, and this was also the first time I got to read them. Needless to say, I am in love ( how can you not be?).
I’ve been reading the rhymes to Alexis over and over again. Sometimes, Andrew and I take turn reading stories, sometimes we take turn reading verses of rhymes, sometimes we’ll read at the same time. Either way, it is a lot of fun.
So since I’ve been so obsessed with Dr Seuss this week, it only seemed fitting to share the photos from the Seuss Landing, one of the most colorful places on earth. Btw, the whole land doesn’t have a single straight angle- it’s amazing!
Christmas time is usually an amazing time to visit Seuss Landing. The whole land gets decorated with all kind of “suess-y” christmas ornaments and the celebration is actually called “Grinchmas”. Even the Grinchmas tree is crooked.
Cat in the hat is my favorite ride and I cannot wait to take Little A there. I also need to remember to buy Thing One and Thing Two onsies.
There’s the spitting fish ride based on One fish, Two Fish..
The overhead train takes you through a few of the best stories: Circus McGurcus and The Sneetches, which happens to be one of my favorites too.
There’s even a Carouseussel for the little ones.
Hope you enjoyed this little tour and/or trip down memory lane ( if you’ve been there). Soon, we’ll be back there with all new photos and new memories.
Can’t wait!
