Who would have known that a community not far from us could put together such an amazing event every year?

Christmas Car parade, bounce house, dance performances by young and old, food, Santa, Orchestras, ice skating rink, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and church, high school marching bands, a jazz bands and more…

This was and will be the number one Christmas event we will go to every year from now on.

Lexi has been fascinated with classical and jazz musical instruments since about 13-14 months so I try to take her to any available orchestra concert that performs early on in the day, so she got SUCH a kick out of watching the marching band, the jazz band and the orchestra. You can see the wonder in her eyes in every single photos.

At the end I will post some videos, taken with the iPhone showing her excitement.

One word about Santa, we hyped him up enough that she was treating him about the same way she does Disney characters: excited and trying to show him around. So when she walked up to Santa, she proceeded to show him the tree and ornaments. We are still not sure about how to approach the whole Santa/presents issue. But I’ll describe what we did this year before she understands TOO much about the logistics of how presents make it under the tree in another post.

  1. Is your mom living here now, or is she still visiting? It’s great that Lexi gets to do so much with her Grandmother. I live in Philadelphia and my mother moved to Florida after she retired, but I would love for her to move back when I have kids. I have so many special memories with my Grandmother, and I’d love for my kids to have that too,

  2. Why do people always feel the need to ask if bloggers are pregnant?
    1. That’s rude. How would you feel if some stranger on the street asked you that question?
    2. Why would you think they would want to make that announcement over the comment section of their blog?
    3. I know they’re bloggers, so they are putting certain aspects of their life out into the world, but it’s no ones buissines until they make it everyone’s buissines.

I think theres such a thing as boundaries, even for bloggers. Elena, and other bloggers like her share a lot of their personal lives with us, but that doesn’t mean that we’re entitled to every intimate detail of their lives. If and when they choose to share, that’s great. Otherwise, a question like “is that a baby bump I see there?”, is too personal imo even if there was no harm meant by it. Just sayin’.

  3. Where did you find that adorable dress for Lexi? Where do you find the most classical music concerts that allow children?

On a side note: With a absolutely no offense to you, Elena (who always looks so gorgeous in photos), I jumped in my seat last night to read the email that was sent out about “We have some news!”. Lol! I thought it was also news of a new baby too, its just my feminine excitement getting the better of me. X)

    • Hi, Kay! The dress was bought on zulily, so I don’t exactly remember the name of the brand (since it wasn’t one of the brands I usually get)
Music concerts: we have a lot of outdoor performances, as well as performances for kids. We also scout all the high school band recitals (or whatever they are called) and concerts. Many events here get high school orchestras to participate so I just look for those.

LOL at the news! Sorry to fake you out, I needed something that would grab people’s attention since I just switched from a feed to a newsletter, and I am not creative enough to come up with anything better. I didn’t even think about it 🙂 I would love to surprised my readers with a pregnancy, but I am not currently up for another 9 months pregnant and a newborn 🙂 haha sorry!

  4. You are a beautiful family! Loved the video especially thank you thank you. Btw what video editor your using? Sorry if I asked before already thank you

  5. Wow Lexi is getting so big! Two was a difficult age for us. My son was in meltdown city!!! He has such a strong independent personality. Three has been such a joy for us. He is the sweetest most loving little guy. How is Lexi with tantrums and meltdowns? We can finally think about having another baby. I couldn’t even begin to THINK about it while he was in the ‘terrible twos’.

    • You know I can;t tell so far how she is with meltdowns. We are in general very liberal parents and practice child led parenting, without setting necessary rules, so it obviously minimizes tantrums, but sheen overcome with emotions.
But like I said again, she’s a handful and I don’t have other kids so I am able to tend to her when she needs to and that creates a more calm atmosphere.

Plus bfing- omg that HELPS SO MUCH 🙂
