{All photography is by Stacey Downey Photography, editing by The Art of Making a Baby} The smash cake part was, of course, the best part of the birthday and I am thrilled with the photos that our photographer Stacey took of it. Seriously, some of the best shots and memories of the whole event.First Birthday Party: Smash Cake

Lexi is seriously too cute for words! My mom made me a cake for my baby shower a few weeks back, and it didn’t rise either. Still tasted good though.
I’m seeing Lexi all over Pinterest now. She’s becoming famous!
I wish I could find a healthy cake recipe as well! I’m too scared it wont turn out though, so I may leave it to the professionals lol!
She seriously is so so so cute! I love the pouty lip picture where she is holding some of the icing in her hand. It looks like she is trying to figure out what it is. I can’t wait for my baby’s first birthday. It won’t be as decorated as your party but that’s ok! 🙂
oh my heavens, Lexi is too adorable…love all the wonderful birthday moments you captured. I truly enjoy reading your blog 🙂
So cute, I love the Smash Cake idea!
Next time you will have to try MV’s microwaved cake mix and rootbeer, lol.

Is Grandma USA your husband’s mom? Lexi is sosososo cute 😮
Yes 🙂

It’s crazy how her eyes are different colors in every photo! Some they are the brightest blue you’ve ever seen, some are a gray blue, some a hint of green.
Did you make her outfit yourself??
Heck no lol 🙂
Where did u get it from then?? ;+)
It’s called tutu du monde!
But I mean how did you get a shirt with number 1 and Paris on it?! 🙂 This is awesome!! Tutu is just the best of course too, Id wear one of these at home for sure :)))
Oh that outfit! I got it from Etsy, it’s handmade.
