I have the Medela Freestyle Pump which does not need to be plugged in. You just charge it up and go! It also comes with clips to attach the pump cups to your bra, and a black band that goes around your waste to clip the pump onto. Voila, hands free!
Oh and I forgot to mention, I pump at work and I do not wear the nursing bras because they provide little support for my boobs. If you place the pumping cup inside of a normal bra, it stays there by itself pretty well. Most of the nursing moms here do this to stay hands free.
I BF, but I pump at work, and I have never used a hands-free bra. I can rest the bottles on my legs and use one hand to hold them in place, and browse through stuff on my phone. I am sure a hands-free bra would be nice, but it also seems like a lot of work to strip down when it only takes me 10 minutes to pump in the first place.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know the Ameda Purely Yours pump can be used on batteries (6 AA). I know you like your Simplisse pump so I doubt you’ll switch, but I wanted to let you know that there is one out there!
You don’t have to strip down. You just put it on top of your clothes.
I really don’t pump that much but I thought a bra like this plus battery powered pump would be an awesome combo.
Did you look at Hygeia breast pumps? They have battery powered and car adapter versions, a button to record baby’s cry to encourage letdown, are recycleable, and include hospital grade filters, so they can be shared (or resold in good conscience). I really like mine!
I agree about the Hygeia. I am surprised you didn’t look into it. It is the only “green” pump on the market. I have a Simple Wishes hands free bra and I absolutely love it.
What makes a pump green?
It is the only nonhospital grade pump that has a closed system. With all other pumps it is possible for milk to get into the pump itself and for any germs/bacteria to be transferred. That is why you should not borrow or buy a used pump. So less pumps in landfills. It also has a rechargeable battery, rather than having to replace batteries.
The Ameda Purely Yours is also a closed system. But I don’t think that makes it a “green” pump.
Yeah, there is a battery powered double electric pump that is pretty popular. The Medela Freestyle pump.
boo! I don’t have a facebook account.
Go ahead and just leave a comment here for that entry and specify that on the action
Alright! yay! I would love a red PumpEase bra if I won! These are adorable and would make pumping so much easier and more convenient! Granted, I haven’t started yet, my little girl is due in June, but I’m a multi-tasker and I can only imagine all I could get done at the same time! 🙂
I love my hands free pumping bra! Definitely great for multitasking. And those prints are super cute, mines just boring white.
It looks scary 🙂 LoL!
Instead of purchasing another thing (that has only a ssomewhat hort term use) I just repurposed one of my old pregnancy bras (they won’t fit once I’m not nursing), you just cut two holes where your nipples are. I can open my nursing bra, pull up my shirt and then put the hands free bra over top. It was free and used something I wasn’t going to keep around anyway.
I find these cumbersome and time consuming. I can put the pump flanges directly in my bra and the suction is enough to keep them in place while I’m completely hands free. I just think that setting up the pump is time consuming enough. To me this would just be extra.
The madela pump in style is a double electric pump that has battery pack.
organic pumpease is comfortable to use than using any other option.
